A terrifying thriller of supernatural evil, The Omen by David Seltzer is the novelization of his screenplay for the film that spawned one of the most successful horror franchises of all time.

World-renowned diplomat Jeremy Thorn and his wife Katherine have just welcomed the newest member of their family: their beautiful son, Damien. A cherubic boy with fair features, Damien appears to be the picture of innocence, but as he grows, so too do the violent, unexplained incidents, from fatal accidents to suicides. Soon Jeremy and Katherine will learn the horrible truth of the terror that seems to follow their family wherever they go, and which was foretold two thousand years ago.

First published as a Signet paperback in June 1976, David Seltzer’s novelization hit bookshelves two weeks before the movie’s release. While novelizations of screenplays and teleplays had long been a part of the publishing landscape, the art form hit its peak with The Omen when the paperback sold three and a half million copies, an unprecedented achievement at the time, making The Omen one of the bestselling books of the year..

The limited edition of The Omen by David Seltzer is presented in three states: Lettered, Numbered and Artist editions.

Please note that Artist editions are not numbered, and are signed by the artist only.

Glad there’s no introduction.

I liked that there was an afterwards instead of an introduction. I don’t think most people who write intros seem to understand that a lot of readers are picking up the book for the first time and they spoil it for them almost always in the intro and delve into the story pretty much summing it all up (these should be afterwards not intros). An intro should delve into what the author was thinking about during the time of writing the book. What was going on during that time period. Did it influence what they’re writing about, etc. In other words, the author should write the intro or someone who’s very well educated on them and it shouldn’t contain any spoilers.
So, good job with the afterwards.

Another awesome edition

I just finished reading the Omen AE yesterday. I thoroughly enjoyed this edition. Amazing artwork- I wish there was more of it. The cover art was outstanding but even without the dust jacket the book was beautifully made.

Oh My-Omen

Beautiful edition of The Omen. The artist edition is stunning. The jacket art. Interior art. Book design. Another Suntup hit. I could give you 666 more reasons, but I’ve got reading to do.
